    Italian Greyhound/jack Russell Mixed

I have adopted from a shelter recently- I think she is Italian Greyhound/Jack Russell Terrier mixed. She weighs 12.5#. What do think?

I argee, I see the terrier in the face and definetly terrier fur. You can also see sighthound of some sort in the face, and whippet/greyhound in the face. As of the size I'd say whippet/JTR.

She is pretty much JRT and I do not see whippet or other in her but then I am biased so what makes you think she has some sort of whippet/Italian greyhound in her. how tall is she in inches and how much does she weigh.

Some jrts have tails and all have them at birth and that is when they are docked but it is their look to have them docked.

So whats her name and give more details about her height and so on as i asked please and then maybe we can tell more but she has more terrier than sight hound in her

She is ADORABLE!!! However, I may be a teeny bit biased seeing as I own three! You must share more about her and more pictures!

I say pure/mostly JRT! Backyard bred undoubtedly, but I don't see any sighthound. *shrugs* Plus, she has a docked tail and most people don't/wouldn't dock the tails of a mix...but that's just my thoughts.

I see a touch of chihuahua in there. She is a little more apple-headed than average for a JRT. Maybe I'm wrong.

I agree...my family owns two. I also agree with the docking of the tail, pluso the dew claws look to have been removed and most(at least all mixes I have owed) have never had them removed.

She's very sweet-looking. I have a "confirmed" JRT/Italian greyhound mix, as in, the person who rescued him says that mom was a JRT and dad was an Iggy. You can definitely see each of these breeds in his appearance and in his personality. Scout is 2-3 years old, weighs in at 17 lbs. and is leggy. Tail, ears, and chest are IG; face and attitude are JRT. Best dog around!! BTW, I think if you mixed a JRT with a whippet, you'd end up with a dog who is larger than Scout, even.

I don't own a JRT or IG... however in the pics for sure I see a lot of JRT, but I could also see the IG part in her. I don't think 12.5 lbs is all that much for a JRT or a IG.

The vet clinic I used to work at most recently we had several IG's that came in to board on a regular basis. We had this one IG, Cody, who was there all the time.... but he was 20-21lbs!! He was actually FAT!! The ONLY fat Greyhound (Italian) I have EVER seen.... lol
If you're gonna breed Collies, don't you forget to breed in the brains and common sense. Without that you won't have a Collie, you'll have just another dog.
