Need spaying help for stray female in Florida

    Hello all,

My sister lives in Boynton Beach, FL. A stray cat has adopted her, staying in her yard. It is young and skinny, and meowing all the time, so she bought it some food because she felt sorry for it.

She thinks it is a female, and 1 cat is enough since she's allergic. Does anyone have any info that could help get the cat spayed? She doesn't have the money for it.

Also what is the recovery for spaying? Would she be able to be put back into the yard afterwards, or would the cat need more care? I've only had male cats, so I don't know.

    Try these links:

http://www.lovethatcat.com/stfl.html (Scroll down about halfway on this page).

Check with your vet(s) on recovery times. Also, they may be able to help find her a home.

If there is a no-kill shelter or Humane Society around, they will often do the spay and health check if the animal is surrendered to them. A small donation to help with that when the kitty is dropped off would be a nice thing to do.

    Hope all works out!
