I'm having real problems with Louie and his bodily functions. Last night I actually took him for a walk (against the vet's advice because of his severe arthritis) because I knew he needed to go - he hadn't since about 5am in the morning. He did nothing. 2:30 this morning he woke me up to go out but when I took him he didn't do anything. 3:30 he wanted to go out again so I took him and he had a pee. When I got back in I noticed he had had a big dump on the living room carpet. This is the second night in a row but at least the first night it was on the kitchen floor so easier to clean up. I sometimes have to take him out at least five times before he will have a pee.
Is this normal for a very senior dog? For those who don't know he is 14 1/2.
