    Blackish spots on nose?

Cali is all white. So a couple of dark spots on her nose really stand out. Are these something we need to see the vet over? I tried to picture them but she's not real fond of me getting right in her face with the camera. They're on the right side of the bridge of her nose.

Have they been there long? Are they changing at all? I'd just keep an eye on them, could be any number of things.

Buddy has them too. My vet said nothing to worry about. They are like freckles, I think, is what he said. Do you have a closeup pic to show. I was trying to find one but I am so tired I need my bed. I can post one tomorrow.

I managed to catch her napping on the cat tree with my supermacro function. I had to make the photo smaller to download here. I hope you can see the little black spots. The one on the right is more promninent than the left.

I think I'd just wait to see if the spots change size and/or color. If so, then a vet visit would be in order. When I first rescued Coco Puff, he had a similar spot on his ear. I took him in to be neutered and the vet asked if I wanted the spot removed but since it would be an additional surgery and I was having a number of cats altered, it would've been too expensive so I refused. That was 5 1/2 years ago and now I can't even find the spot.
    Blessings,
    Mary

It looks like it is sitting on top of a small bump. Do you feel a bump there?

Could be just a blackhead...maybe have it checked out quickly at the vet.

Okay, that looks a little different than Buddy's freckles. His are flat, just a pigmentation thing. If it is a bump you may want to keep an eye on it or have it checked.

Is that what they call it? Lentigo? I didn't know the name. My orange boy has them. They are his beauty marks.

With the snow and stuff we're getting I think I'll make a vet appointment for Saturday, after the weather is better.

    Thanks all for your comments.

Cali will be seeing the vet at 11 am on Saturday, tomorrow. Hopefully then we can get to the bottom of what these 3 black spots are on her pretty white nose.

I hope that everything goes well and it's nothing serious. Please keep us updated about her.

So the vet confirmed there are black spots on Cali's nose. The first, biggest one "popped" before we went there so it is just a scab now. She thinks they might be blackheads or perhaps injuries from scrapping with Diego. We are going to watch them for a couple of weeks and see if there is any change. In the meantime she asked about feliway. I told her my experience with the diffusers didn't go so well (when I put the refill in it started smoking!). She gave me the spray version of it so will be using that. So for now we are watching the pretty white nose to see if there is any change.

Good news, anyway. I hope the spray works for you. My vet told me to spray it on a bit of cloth and lay it near where Oscar spends most of his time. Needs 2 - 3 hours exposure, apparently.

Prayers that beautiful Cali will heal soon!
