    Keep Rascal in your prayers

I haven't posted about Rascal because I was waiting until I had more results.

He has been losing weight for a while and I blamed Annie - because she always pushes him out of the way to get to all of the food.

A trip to the vets brought good news and bad. His blood work Thank God was perfect.

However, my boy has some serious dental issues. He is in surgery now even as I write this.

Please, I would so appreciate it if you could keep Rascal in your thoughts and prayers that he will be alright.

Annie and Emma are totally distraught with him not in the house.

    Thank you!

I just got off the phone with the vets office and Rascal did not have any teeth extracted. Although his gums were in bad shape, no teeth were decayed or loose.

He did however, have a small growth under his tongue which has been removed. He has one suture which will dissolve.

The growth will be sent into the lab for a biopsy and I should have results back by next Thursday which oddly enough is my birthday.

You can imagine that I am praying for a wonderful birthday present that
the growth is benign. I cannot imagine putting this sweet cat through any long term treatments. I have been there and done that and I swore I would never do it again.

Has anyone had any experience in this type of growth?

Thank you for your prayers - they are deeply appreciated.

Prayers beaming your way from central Calif. Fingers crossed all is well with the biopsy.

Thanks everyone for your prayers and thoughts.

He is back home now and I tried to close him into a bedroom for some privacy and comfort. He wanted none of it - put him where the action is, please. (I took this as a good sign).

Annie and Emma are approaching him very cautiously and carefully.

He's a bit loopy as you can imagine.

They showed me the growth and it is a little tiny thing - pure white.

He's resting now and can have a small amount of food and a little water in about two hours.

Give all of your babies a hug and kiss tonight - ya just never know.......

    Thanks again - Gini

I'm still at work - winding down and ready to go home but I just had to check on PT to see if there was a thread for Rascal. You guys have been in my mind all day. It's such a worry for everyone concerned.

Many many Canuck prayers coming to you from north of the border. I'm so glad he's back home and praying big time that it's nothing sinister.

Big hugs to you my friend and one for everyone in the household.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

    Oh my- so many messages:
first: Rascal losing weight- I am afraid it may be kidneys..
    then: Rascal's bloodwork is excellent
Then: he has serious dental issues
Then all his toothies are stable
Then: the growth under the tongue
Now I can easily see it's time for news!
It can't be any other way.
All the best for you and Rascal
