    Advice/critique my manip please!

Hi guys. I've been working on this manipulation a little bit over the last few day and I've just sort of hit a wall with it. I can't decide on the colors or lighting, whether to add anything like trees or dirt around the outside of the pond. I also am not sure if I'm happy with the skyline.

I still plan on cleaning up the girlie's hair and the plant behind her hair, plus adding shading and stuff.

By the way, this is made out of five different stock images from DeviantArt.

And I can't seem to find the picture of the girl right now but I will before I submit the final draft to dA.

Any thoughts or constructive criticism welcome!

    Looks pretty cool to me.
Maybe a tree or a shrub to the girls right....to hide those thistle things.
    Skyline looks ok.

I think the skyline is just there; it doesn't really do any justice to the piece, sorry. My personal opinion is it should be cropped where it's still green, or perhaps a bluer skyline could be added.

The rest of it is very pretty, though!

Wow, very neat! I think the pool looks like it should be set on the edge of a forest, with the horse in a nearby meadow like it is. What about adding some trees behind the girl? I also think a storm coming in on the skyline would look very dramatic...but then again I have no idea how to do that sort of thing so I don't know how difficult it would be! You are really good at it.

Both the horse and the girl need shadows, however slight, so they look like they are actually there, not pasted on. I would lighten the surface of the water some, as the sky is light and there's not reason for it to be that dark, water reflects the sky, and of course the girl's hand should have a slight reflection in the water as well. You might want to flip the horse, as right now the biggest jarring thing is his light source is coming from the rights, and the girl's light directly from the left .... unifying your light source will help!

Thanks Karen. Like I said, this is sort of a rough cut right now. I'm thinking I want the horse a bit smaller too. I'm hesitant to do anything with the water until I'm sure the girl is in the right place and until I make up my mind about the weather. I think I want it to be a late summer's day.
