2010 has been a bad year so far...

I don't think I told you guys this, but December 28, my next door neighbor slipped on his icy driveway while getting his mail. He fell, hitting his head and laid out there for nearly 10 minutes before someone driving by saw him and got us. Four days later, he was declared brain dead and the family pulled the plug. He was only...58? (RIP Harold Hotelling).

As if that weren't bad enough, on Monday, a senior at my school overdosed on heroin. He and my sister used to be close friends, so we talked a few times, though I wouldn't necessarily call us friends. He was popular though, and a LOT of people were affected by his death. His funeral was yesterday, and there were a group of kids outside SMOKING. It was like...did his death teach you nothing? How stupid are you?! RIP Adam Shoulders

With two deaths of people I knew and the whole Haiti debacle, 2010 is not starting out so great...

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry to hear of these horrible deaths.
I can totally agree this year hasn't started out so well. For me it was a co-workers husband passed away on Jan 4 after battling cancer, he was in his mid to late 50's. Then my boyfriends sister-in-law's brother-in-law passed away from an aortic aneurism on the 15th. He was only 53. Both of these men left two teenage (or early 20's) children and a wife.
I am just hoping it's all done here in the first month so we can move on and have a better 11 months to come.
