    Some more recent dog paintings...

Those of you who remember me may remember that I am an animal artist as well. I showed a few works back then but here's some more recent ones you won't have seen..

A Bully painted for a guy who trains at the same wing chun school as me.

Two of my dads retired greyhounds, Jack and Jim. They are brothers.

Fizz, a deceased jrt that used to run with Doncaster bellestars flyball team. Her owner had me paint this last summer.

A non commissioned piece but the dogs are flyball dogs who I photographed at one of our teams tournaments. i liked their poses and expressions and the fact that they looked quite different to each other...like proper working border collies do. I put them in a farmyard scene.

Bryn, a retired flyball dog for another member of doncaster bellestars.

    My sisters dog Monty...Xmas present.

My dads other retired greyhound, Tammy. He has 5 racing ones too.

A dog that ran on the top team of our own flyball cluib we were with before quitting. His name is Ollie and he's lovely. His markings were excellent with one side of his face solid black and the other side merle. I photographed him doing the box and then painted it.

Here is a link to a photo I took of Ollie so you can see his lovely face and markings. Wish he was my dog.

I would like to have some sort of drawing like this done of my sweet Sadie. How much do you charge?!

They are just beautiful! You have an amazing talent.

Have you ever made a portrait of a cat or do you only specialise in dogs?

    Thanks all

Lilith Cherry - I do alsorts of creatures but I only posted dogs here with it being a dog forum. I don't get asked for many cats and have only done a few. I have only ever done two cat commissions and one of them was when I was still at school aged 15. The other one was also quite some years ago. I've painted a couple for my own portfolio and I also did a small one years ago of a cat of our own who had to be pts because of feline infectious peritonitis. One was quite recent after I sold the other last spring in a gallery.
Here they are anyway. The tabby close-up was painted some years ago and that was the one which sold. As I had no cats left in my portfolio, I decided to add another. A black one this time. I made it interesting by giving it a black background. I love that mysterious look you get from black cats.
    Here they are:

I've also done some big cats. I was working on a snow leopard before a commission suddenly came in with an imminent deadline, another dog lol, so the snow leopard is currently on hold.
Dogs are not our whole lives but they make our lives whole.

Oh thanks for showing them to us! I have both cats and dogs so I just wondered. You are a terrific artist!

Maybe you should post a thread in the Marketplace forum here on Pet Talk for anyone interested in buying a painting from you.

    Great paintings

Those are just awesome. My husband Dan is an artist too... and I'm sure he will love to see these. I will make sure that I show him when i am logged on next. Do you mind me asking... what or how did you capture the image for posting. He uses a Canon 40D at work and I know he spends a lot of time on White Balancing. I love your shots, but I'll bet they are EVEN better in real life colors!!!
