    New from Chi town

Hey people! Im Dave from northern Illinois. Ive dabbled in rescue a little and cant wait to share some experiences with everyone. I have 6 rescue dogs and a few cats that deffinately needed me more than I needed them but how could I refuse such blessings.

well thanks! Champ is my "special" boy! health wise he was a total lemon as far as dogs go. he came to our shelter at 7 weeks old with severe burns and broken bones from being tossed from a car and run over by another passer-by in Zion Illinois. when he arrived I could hardly stand to look at him. but he stole my kids heart right away. by the time he was 7 months old he was in need of surgeries that the county was not going to pay for so we took him home to start his long road to recovery. after 10 surgeries including skin grafts and reefings to remove scar tissue, acl reconstructions and many bone infections, he has turned out to be the most gentle and happy dog I know.

Welcome, Dave, to PT! Champ is cute and all, but what about poor Pete, not getting any attention at all? He's adorable! Not that I'm partial or anything...

    Enjoy the chat and pics!

Pete is 1 of our brindle cats. lol! we had a ferel cat problem in our neighborhood and after 100 kittens and 5 adult cats we finally put an end to it thanks to the efforts of few. Pete and his brother Rufus were found under a pile of sticks about 2days old and nursed here by a serogate mother we had access to. they were raised by 6 dogs and now they think they're dogs too.
