I found this online when searching for a card to give to a co-worker who lost her 12 year old dog last week. We took up a collection at work and made a donation to the local humane society in his memory. His death was sudden and she is devastated. I thought this was too beautiful and appropriate not to share.....
Our inability to completely protect and keep from harm those we love is a painful but inherent part of the human condition.
Let solace be taken, however, in knowing that we gave the best we had to our little friends, and that they knew, without an inkling of doubt, that they were deeply loved.
For, beyond all else, that is the greatest gift we give to them, and in turn, the greatest gift they give to us.

I miss my Honda Girl. It's nice to know that I have Delta though, and she reminds me of Honda everyday. I know she is not Honda, but maybe she was a gift from Honda because she knew we couldn't live without her pushy attitude. Haha She wouldn't lay down for bed if her water bowl was empty. She would just stand there. And one day my husband didn't feed her before he took a shower and guess who stuck her head in and woofed at him.
