    Mitten Tree 2009

Here are 2 pictures of the Mitten tree during the church service today.the hats and mitts go to kids who really need them.Reverend Lafave is the person on the left of the tree.He told the mitten tree story about kids who get everything and kids who don't so one day the the kids with everything left mitts and hats on the tree for the poor kids. The Junior Choir sang, other kids the Sunday school did a short play about the meaning of Christmas,we sang Away in A Manger. The Reverend lit the first of 5 candles for Advent. The gray haired man in the first picture plays the trumpet the odd time at church,in the other one,the lady with the other gray haired man just came back from a knee operation.

What a wonderful idea!!!!! Do you mind if I pass this one along to my Pastor? This is something that should definitely catch on.

That's a great idea. I wish we could do something simple and easy like this.
