Just found a lump on Luna's skin (update #19)

I just detected a little lump on Luna*s skin, near her shoulder blade. First I thought it was a tick (has the size and the shape of one) but it's not. It's doesn't seem to hurt her; in fact, she purred when I found it. It's very hard and solid and seems to grow out of her skin, so I hope it's no fibrosarcoma, but I'll take her to the vet tomorrow.

Tried to take a photo of it, but it didn't turn out well.

Needless to say, I'm a little worried now...

Looks like a wart...the vet will likely know. Hugs and kisses to that pretty girl!

    Wow! Do cats have warts?

In fact, it resembles the fibroma I had removed from my skin last year...

Yes - it does look like a wart. Myndi has one that's a wart, and in just about the same place too. Her vet say it's nothing to worry about, and older pets tend to get them. How old is Luna?
Fingers and paws crossed that it's nothing at all. Try not to worry.

I hope you're right and it's just a wart! Luna is 9 years old. And she's hardly leaving my side lately, in fact, she's lying in my arm while I'm typing here. She's always with me now, but that could be because she feels I'm not well. Luna and I are so very close!!

My guess is wart or benign cyst. From what I understand the ones to be worried about generally grow UNDER the skin.

Luna, you'll be fine! Meowmie will make sure! The vet should put you at ease, Kirsten. Good Luck!

I hope it is something as benign as a wart or skin tag! Please let us know. Meanwhile, kisses to the girls.

    Kirsten, I hope it's just a wart. I have a feeling it's nothing serious.

Give Luna a kiss from me - and Lily too! Fister sends headbumpies.

It does not look dangerous- so I hope it is a wart. Cuddles for Luna!

That looks very similar to a couple of the bumps that Connor has. I have had the vet look at them and he said that they were fat deposits that had collected. Connor has had them for years and they have never bothered him. So hopefully it is nothing and Luna will be just fine

I immediately though - oh, just a skin tag, older critters (human, feline, and others) get them, and they are harmless. Annoying, but harmless. So I hope that's what the vet says!

Goodness, always a worry, huh? I hope your vet says it's just a wart or skin tag, Kirsten. Keep the faythe.

Fingers and paws crossed for dear Luna! I'm sure it is nothing major, but thank you for being a good Meowmie and getting it checked.
