    In Memoriam

Instead of going nuts over the celebrities who have passed recently, we should take a moment to honor our troops.

Just 3 who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country in the past week.

Unit: Army, 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska.

Incident: Killed when a makeshift bomb detonated near his vehicle.
    Spec. Casey L. Hills
    Hometown: Salem, Illinois, U.S.

    Age: 23 years old
Died: June 24, 2009 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: Army, 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry Regiment, Pago Pago, American Samoa

Incident: Killed during a vehicle roll-over.
    Sgt. Ricky D. Jones

I make it a point --- every Sunday...to read the obituaries of those in uniform who died during the week overseas. Their name, age, hometown, and how they died.

It seems the least I can do.

Thank you Grace for reminding us.

    Thank you so much, Grace.
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of these young people. I can't thank all of our troops enough for the sacrifices they make every day. So young and loved by so many. They will be sadly missed.

    Rest In Peace Brave Soldiers

Grace, thank you for the reminder!

There is an article on CNN online today about a family who have sent their three THREE!!! sons to Afghanistan.

Prayers are offered for all the young men and women that we have lost as well as the young people we are now sending off to war.

Did anyone see the Vet who died a few days ago?

He was a pilot and had something like 59 medals awarded, he also had 5 purple hearts and was shot down 5 times. I forgot his name and I went looking for him by the medals awarded, but had no luck, his was an extraordinary story!
