Finally - I can see it. Hurray!

It will be 2 years this summer since we put the new addition on the house and also a new roof. The old roof was a dark barn red and the shutters on the windows matched that. When the new roof went on, we changed the color of the shingles to a dark gray/green (the house has gray vinyl siding), so of course the shutters had to come down to be painted to match the roof. Those red ones just wouldn't cut it!

So they took up residence in the garage, patiently waiting for a new paint job - and they waited, and waited, and waited..... In the meantime, the front of the house grew some not so pretty moss/mold and had to be pressure washed even before the shutters could go back up.

Well today the day finally arrived. My son took the new pressure washer he got for his birthday last June, and washed the house, and now he's in the garage painting the shutters! Hallelujah - praise the Lord! I won't even recognize the place when they get finished and up!

So I guess now I have to forgive him for cutting down the azaleas across the front with his chain saw a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't too happy when he first did it, but now I have to admit (to myself-not to him!), that it does look better. They were old and wrangly and even a good pruning wouldn't have helped.

He's not lazy - just works some crazy hours, and he and DIL like to get out on the motorcycle when they can, when there's not something else going on like the kids have to go somewhere, or the weathers bad, or someone's sick, etc, etc. Even the big kids have to have some time for play.

OMG - the good news continues. I just found out that he put DIL to painting the shutters and he's on the roof cleaning the gutters and installing the gutter guards.

I don't know if my heart can take all this in one day.....
