    My First Foster

We are fostering this great dane puppy for Georgia Dane Rescue, for about a month.
He was picked up as a stray. His ears were cropped, so that means he had a home once.

He is about 6 months old, a very nice dog. Pictures of him are in this WebShots photo album. "Olaf" is only a working name.

So - when you foster a dog, what happens if nobody adopts it? Does that happen very often?

Scott. Olaf is adorable! I couldn't access your pictures, so I can't tell what kind of GD he is. Is he a Harlequin? Do you know if the Georgia Dane Rescue has any Harlequins for adoption? My uncle is looking for a rescue.

This my 4th contact with a great dane, the first three were ones we helped with part of a transport, this is our first rescue. I know so little about danes ( or pets in general ), I don't know what his is other than a great dane, sorry.

I will PM to you the email address of my contact with Georgia Dane Rescue.

WHat a huge but adorable baby he is! It would be sooo cool if your uncle adopted him - keeping it all in the Pet Talk family! That is, if his original family doesn't turn up. I don't know how anyone could let him go, but I do know, from experience, that Danes loooooove to run. Our Gracie, fortunately, always came back home after she escaped and had a good run - usually curling up on the porch where she would be if she were on her chain, as if to say "Me? I wasn't bad ... I've been right here all along!"

He IS a Harelquin dane - that's a white Dane with black (usually) spots. A Blue Dane is blue-grey, they can also be black, brindle and Fawn - that's the lovely gold color with dark muzzle and ears that most people think of when they think of a Great Dane.

Oh how precious!! Yes, he is a Harlequin!!
I've known four Great Danes in my lifetime. The first was Numa, when I was a child, I used to get to ride her. She was the sweetest dog! Then there was my cousin's blue male (I forgot his name). He was beautiful, but he was mean. He only liked my cousin, no one else. Then there were two others that my acquaintances owned. Each of them were old (8, old in Danes) when I met them and were not too healthy anymore. These two were sweet, too!
    Save a life, ADOPT!!
