    Brandon Update

Orginal thread starting in December is here...

    http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthre...ura%27s+Babies

The tumor that ruptured in Brandons head has been identified, it is a fast growing and aggresive one. His Mom has looked it up on the internet and has found the survival rate is 2 to 4 years. Since it is on his brain stem, they are going to watch his spinal colume close, if it spreads, that is where they say it will go. He has already started radiation treatments and oral chemo. Sis said that chemo is $4000 for a months supply and the medicine they gave him for the nausea is close to $1000 for a months supply. He will take the chemo for so long, get off for awhile and get back on it for a year, off and on for a year.

I don't know if I knew before I left or not but his doctor is trying to get him on disability.

He seems to be doing great so far and trying to get on with some kind of life again. This is a picture of him getting set up for radiation..

And a picture of him with his favorite nurse maid who is a former girlfriend from several years ago and they have gotten back together since all this started, she is the only one he wants when he is sick and bedridden. She helped nurse him back to helath when he was in the horriable car wreck several years ago. This picture was taken just a few days ago.

Please remember to keep him in your prayers. This is not over yet.

Many many prayers for Brandon and his family as this latest round in the war starts.

Is any of the medication cost covered by the state, or insurance? Hopefully the hospital has some ideas on help for that.

However - Brandon is priceless, and a great and healthy life for him is worth any cost at all!

He's a very brave lad - and I am glad his friend is there for him.

I had been searching for Brandon's thread and couldn't find it so I'm glad that you posted this. Of course, prayers are always continuing for him. He has youth on his side and now his girlfriend by his side. A special candle burns for him and you, too, Laura.
    Blessings,

Catty, I am sure he has some sort of insurance because Sis said they had to check to see if his insurance would cover the chemo.

I seem to recall they got 80% or more of the tumour removed in surgery. Let's hope doing the chemo and radiation now will really knock it back where it came from!

More prayers for Brandon and all his family.

Brandon and the family will remain in my thoughts, daily.

He sure is a good looking guy, and she is very pretty too. They make a cute couple.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Laura, thank you for the reminder. I'm sorry that Brandon's prognosis is so grim, but he sounds like a fighter and he has a loving family and friends to support him. You can count on prayers from Scott and me.
