I've been Boo'd...
Thanks Barry!
Oh Ramone, I am just seeing this. That is a huge owie. It was the same with me when Taz had his surgery. They told me it'd be about 4 or 5 inches long. Instead it was about 6 to 8 inches long! And on his tummy.
Don't worry, you will be all healed up and back out playing in the snow in no time.
I will be hoping the results come back A-OK!
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.
Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

OMG, what a big scar!!
Don't worry, his fur will grow back really fast, and the scar will get invisible! We humans aren't that lucky

Owie owie! I'm glad his surgery went well. I hope Ramone heals up quickly and that the test results come back okay.

Lovely dog! Hope test comes back ok and that he heals quickly.
How's Mony doing today? Back to his regular self yet? I'm glad they were able to get it all! Hopefully the test results come back good.
I just got off the phone with the vet. I tried to write down everything she said. Mony's lump came back as a sarcoma tumor which is a malignant cancerous type growth. There was healthy tissue all around the edges of the growth, so she got good margins there, but there was still evidence of the sarcoma cells at the bottom of it. Dr. Erica said that she had gone down right to his muscle. She said that these types of tumors are likely to come back in the same general area and they have a very low risk of spreading. She hadn't gotten a chance to phone the oncologist yet and is hoping to do so tomorrow to discuss what our options are if it does come back.
So basically we wait and see if it comes back or not I guess. I'm off to google some things as I don't fully understand.
*Thanks Ashley*

I hope it's not too serious! Sounds like the same kind of growth Echo had when she was about 2yrs old. We had to remove it a few times, as it kept coming back. Hers was in a weird spot though that made it difficult to remove completely.

Here are some pics of Ramone's bum one week after surgery. As you can see the hair is coming in nicely and the incision is really healing nicely. He's being pretty good about leaving it alone.
What he's not being good about leaving alone is his leg where the catheter was. He has licked it raw. I am going to have to wrap it up for a couple days I think.
"Ummm can someone please tell my mom that I am NOT Irish. Sheesh."
"Dis is so embarrassing!"
"Please take those off of me and don't put them on again. How are the chicks gonna see my cool scar?"
*Thanks Ashley*
Thanks for the update, and cute pics. (love the shorts)
Sending lots and lots of good thoughts for you and Ramone.

First I want to start off by saying I love my vet. She just phoned me from her house to tell me that she had talked to the oncologist. When the oncologist found out about Mony's age and breed she was concerned that what we are dealing with might not be a soft tissue sarcoma, but a histiocytic sarcoma... which is bad. So there is a particular type of test that they need to run on it that stains the cells or something. I am very bad at vet speak. Anyways I told her to go ahead with the test so that we know for sure for sure what we are dealing with. What's another $100, right? She asked how he was doing and if he was back to his normal crazy self... I laughed and said yep he was back to his normal self about an hour after we picked him up.
I removed the stitches myself on Saturday. He was a very good boy for it. He was just chewing on a bone on the living room floor, so I sat down beside him and took them out. He didn't even look up from chewing his bone. lol
Here are some new pics... the hair almost covers the scar now.
I found him sleeping at the back door when I went to go take some new pics.
To take pics I just put him in a stand stay and then walk behind him. This is the look I get the whole time I am taking pics...
"Mom can you please stop taking pics of my bum? Its embarassing!"
*Thanks Ashley*
continued hugs and prayers on the way for you and Mony...
