    Coin collectors?

I have a passing thing about collecting coinage.

It's not a hobby, I just like to find old coins.

I found an almost immaculate 1959 penny in a handful of change I got from the store the other day!

This makes me think that people are dipping into jars of old money to spend during these times....be on the look out for some really cool change!

Yep, I've noticed the same thing...sad to think that folks might have to be doing just that, but they can feel confident that I love the coin dearly as it nestles in my table safely with old friends.

    Your collection looks like mine!

I was almost speechless because I would have never seen the penny had I not seen in it the sunlight and saw the wheat pattern JUMP out at me!

    Good luck collecting!

Richard, have you found a buffalo nickel yet? That would be neat.

All the pennies I get are nothing special, but I've found some pretty
    old dimes.

No, I do have some of the new Buff nickels!

Look for silver quarters! When you look at the milled edge, they are one color and, I think, older than 1963. The old dimes are silver too.

I have been looking for a mercury dime!

Pennies are pretty standard, you find all kinds of old ones there.

There are steel pennies from the war years, rationing and all that-I have seen one, but it wasn't mine.

I have two of them. One had been made into a necklace charm, so it's
    not valuable anymore.

Gee, I have several "jars" of money that I never bother. I even have Mama"s old coin purse full of coins that I just take out and look at now and then. Maybe I need to look at the coins closer...

I just found two more pennies,

    1956 and a 1945!

Keep your eyes peeled.....there are a few coins out there that are worth more than face value.

I collect old coins, and my grandpa finished my state quarter collection for me. My oldest is a penny from the fifties and a dollar bill from before the started writing "In god we trust" on them.

The New Presidential Dollar coins are the most beautiful on the planet.

Check them out! This is the first coin the has words struck on the edge.
There was a lot that went out without the wording, those are worth a penny!

The U.S. mint has put out a District of Columbia Quarter! Looks really hot!

This made me laugh-it's the 01-27-09 strip.
Don't tell me that he's that over inflated?

So Richard, do you want some coins from other countries??? Email me.

I just found a new Lincoln penny.

    It's a neat coin-The Formative Years!

I forgot that they were minted and gave up hope of seeing one anytime soon!

We have one of the first of those pennies - the quality of the engraving is kind of disappointing, frankly. It looks far too beat up for a new penny.

And slick, we recently got a 2007 Canadian penny - it looks like the queen's portrait was changed about then to reflect her being older?
