    Stupid tricks that...

    ...help keep you lazy

Now, whenever Giselle or Lucky have to go outside to potty, I just need to tell Ivy LOL. Meanwhile, I'll be sitting on the couch. *grin*

Next stupid trick: Cook dinner. Take out trash. Do the laundry...

Aww man, too bad we have sliding glass doors here. I'd love to teach Taggart that one.
    Good job Sophie and Ivy!!
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

The Muttsy Threesome have the "Opening" part (to come back IN) down pat -
I leave the door closed but not latched ... even lil MiniMutt can *kick* it open
when they want to come back in from an outie. However ...

Like most Kids, the idea of *CLOSING* said door is a concept never fully understood -
nor practiced. HEY - did anyone CLOSE the door? Theres a DRAFT in here!
And there's the door - standing 90* WIDE Open!

I tried hiding treats behind the door~

    * Cinder reaches in and *flicks* the treat out with a paw - hardly touches the door

    * SmokeMutt gives it a shove - far enough to squeeze in for the goodie
(The ONE time he actually body-slammed the door hard enough to close it -
I thought he'd had a heart attack from fright - he won't even look for a
    behind-the-door treat anymore.)

    * MiniMutt takes a *sniff* for the treat then *BARKS* for someone to fetch it.

I won't hold my breath waiting for dinner to be cooked.

What would I do for my dog to do that. He's too little, and we don't have that kind of door. RRRRRRRRRRRRG! I am very jealous. LOL!

Thanks guys I've been trying to find other stuff to teach. Suggestions welcome! I'm contemplating "turn off/on a light", but I tried it before and it was harder than I originally thought. Me - being lazy, of course - gave up after 2 days

Did someone say they're open for suggestions?? Jack and I love stupid tricks!

How about opening/closing a refrigerator/cooler and getting a drink? (The all time favorite at our house)

Light switches are fun. I found it incredibly easy to teach once peanut butter was involved. I also put a chair up to the light so it'd be easier to reach at first, but then again he was young when I taught him.

Limping on command. It was hard to teach, and took a while, but is neat.

    (From 9/21/2006)

    I can't pick just one

Jack's BEST trick would probably have to be getting a beer out of the fridge for my dad. It's the reason Jack was allowed to continue living there when I left But in addition to that he can turn on lights, get you a kleenex when you 'Achoo', cross his legs on command, crawl (forwards and backwards), play basketball, Boing! (his favorite and usually other people's favorite), nod his head yes when you ask him if he bites, pull your socks off your feet (Sock Video), get drinks out of the cooler (video) ...etc..

    Video: Assortment of tricks

Heres a video of him getting in the fridge for my dad...he had JUST learned it the night of the video..he has improved dramatically and does it reliably now Don't mind the messy garage

Micki's best trick is shaking his head no when you ask him if he's a good dog. His favorite trick however is spin and bow.

Kyra's best trick is probably hide your eyes, but her favorite is rolling over.
Mini doesn't do too much, but her best/favorite trick would be praying.

Shadow's favorite trick ever is head down, mainly because it takes little effort.

Jack (and Ashley) are *VERY Talented*!!
