Buddy Jr. got himself into trouble!!

He went out in the woods by himself and stepped in a LEG TRAP!!!
Lucky for him my parent's were outside when it happened and they heard his yelps and cried of pain.
They had to keep calling him, to keep him barking in order to find him. My dad found him first and Buddy was chewing at his leg (wouldn't YOU be??)
When my dad reached to release the trap Buddy started biting my dad, my dad used his back to pin Jr. up against the tree that the trap was tied to to hold him still while he got the trap off his leg.
LUCKY for Bud it was a small trap and it didn't have the jagged teeth. The trap only broke the skin no bones were broke.

My dad has since spoken to the neighbor who's young son put the trap out there, there won't be anymore traps!

Here's the crazy guy during a recent camping trip:

Ow! Poor Buddy Jr., I bet he would have liked a sip of that beer to help him over the trap incident.

OMGosh, how horrible and frightening! Poor boy, he must have been terrified. I am glad he is alright.

As Isabel asked, why on earth was a leg trap out there in the first place? They are illegal here, but I know they are permitted in some areas.

SO glad you parents were out there when this happened.

Oh poor Jr. I am so glad there were no serious injuries...but it is a serious issue....why are there traps there and like others have said.....what are they trying to catch with a small trap....or any trap for that matter!!!! I am just really glad Buddy Jr. is okay.

So, did you guys give him a lap of that beer???? Sure looks like he was licking somethin' off his mouth!!!

    Then he passes out!! LOL!!

Thank you all for the comments!
We all are VERY glad nothing worse happend, Gawd knows it could have been much worse. Or what if Leroy (my parent's cat) or ANY cat for that matter would have stepped in it. They would have had a broken leg for SURE!

And yes, those traps are still legal here in Ohio.

He's one mighty lucky pup that it happened while your parents were right there, it could have been much worse if he'd been trapped there on his own for a long time. He'll probably be a little leery of dashing off into the woods again any time soon!

Wow! I sure hope the neighbor kid understands how bad that could have been and doesn't set any more!

Glad to hear Jr. made it out with only some minor wounds quite the scare.
