I like Sheltie's I think they are very nice dogs. When I was living with my parents we had one. Of course that was about 8 years ago.

I LOVE my Sheltie. He's sweet and sensitive and intelligent and loyal - you name it!!! I don't have a whole lot of other dogs to compare him to, though. We had a little mixed breed a few years ago, and I loved her just as much.

When I was a kid we had a lot of dogs - my parents were the sort of pet owner horrer story you always hear about. They'd go to a pet store and buy a dog (really! Can you imagine it?) Then, they'd get fed up with it because it couldn't housebreak itself and it smelled like a dog, so then they'd get rid of it. A year or two later they'd repeat the same story with a different breed - usually from a pet store.

But - we were adopted by a wonderful German Shepherd when I was a kid, and he was great. Better even than Jake (my Sheltie). He was so wonderful, in fact, that even my parents liked him!

I'll be honet I don't really care for shelties. I like dogs of all sizes but for some reason shelties fall at the bottom of the list for me. Growing up my parents had 6 shelties and I never took to any of them. ????
