Kizmit went lure coursing for the first time. *more pics added post 16*

I realize that it's been a while since I posted anything really but I had such fun and was so proud of the biggest youngest Goonie that I just had to share.

The local sighthound club was having a lure coursing practice this weekend and one of the clients at worked suggested taking Kizmit out and giving him a chance to do some straight line lures. So we go out today thinking that all Kiz would be doing is a couple of straight line runs and that would be it...it wasn't, one of the club members helped me show Kiz the lure a couple of times (picture Kizmit running after it dragging me along behind him) then told me to just watch for a little bit, then next thing I know we were running the whole course...not once but twice and quite well I must say. He did so good in fact that some of the club members suggested that I take him out again next week and maybe get him certified so he can run in trials in the future, still thinking about that. Anyhoo my friend came along with me with her camera to take some pictures and to catch Kiz if need be and I thought I would share. So here they are.

Sitting nicely waiting for a treat when we first got there.

Watching the lure and other dogs go

Wondering just what his mommy is doing...he pulled me over trying to get to the lure.

Waiting for the tally-ho from the hunt master

    more to come...

    Right after being let go.

Running full tilt after the lure

It looks like he's floating here.

and last but not least just him taking a corner after the lure.

Uh! He is such a gorgeous dog. I absolutely love the first picture. He looks sooo Egyptian. And the action running shots, beautiful!!
Way to go, Kizmit, on your first lure course.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

    That's awesome! Good job Kizmit!

I've always wanted to see lure coursing in person. One day I shall have a whippet and try my hand at it.

There's a lure coursing trail coming up in September sometime out at wet creek. I have the premium at home on my computer so I can check out the date for you if you want.

Wow, it looks like Kizmit not only did well but had a lot of fun doing it. Can't get better than that. He is such a beautiful dog and obviously a very fast runner. Whoever took the picture and whatever camera they used were very good.

Yay, Kizmit! I like the third picture from the bottom where you are in motion, but I especially like the second one from the top because I can see your excited face! I think your mom is proud of you! I am glad you did a great job and had fun.

Gorgeous Kizmet! I very good friend of mine had a Ibizen Hound that he took out lure coursing, and I went along a couple of times. It truly is a wonderful sight. The dogs take to it so naturally. Good job, Kizmet.

I'll have to agree with the others, it is very obvious he was born to run his bum off like that. The action photos are marvelous to look at. I never knew there were such events as lure coursing... seems very neat and prompted me to look up a few videos of the sport on YouTube.
