A Pet Talk Adventure Part 1 ~ Zion NP

Kate (Kater) had some time to kill before getting into her new place in Colorado, so she came here. We took a trip down to Southern Utah to go camping, visit the National Parks, and volunteer at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary...then we hiked Mt. Timpanogos when we came back. I'm apparently not capable of only choosing a few photos so this will have to be split into a few threads, this thread is from Zion National Park.

We spent 2 days there, these are from the first day:

Kate's car...only girls could pack a car with this much crap.

    The "ampitheater" surrounding the pool

The second day, hiking the Narrows:

    The Virgin River

Its interesting to hike it as there are some places you can walk on land, some where the water is fairly shallow, and some places it is waist deep (well, if you are short like me that is). Sorry I know many of these look basically the same but I was a little photo happy as usual.

    Kate found a friend

I was standing in the moving water for a lot of these shots...which is why I lost yet another lens cap...

Some bison we saw on the way back to camp

Sorry, two more pics of the narrows, I put a couple of pics together to better show the height of the canyon walls.

Stay tuned for the next threads...I'll try to get them up in the next few days

When I was in 8th grade (like a hundred years ago) my math teacher worked at Zion in the summer. My parents loved to travel and so we ended going out there that summer and seeing her at one of the gift shops. My parents weren't into hiking so we didn't get to see the parts you did but I remember it as a beautiful amazing place. I wanted to work there when I got old enough but I never did. Your pictures are really beautiful and bring back a lot of good memories.

Awesome photos I would love to see just a fraction of what you've seen and experience.

Can't wait for the next installment

Wow! Zion! One of the greatest places in the world!
Regarding that it was July there is still quite some water in there.
