    Man attacks dog in Philly

    Story

My mom just called me to update me on this news story. She was discussing it at lunch with her co-workers and prays that this never happens to my dog because I'd be in jail for what I did to the person who did it. This was someone's pet and this guy went out of his way to beat this dog to death for what looks like no other reason than the dog's breed.

For the life of me, I really don't understand people who abuse animals. My own dog is an incredible kid and I deal with the results of his previous owners' abuse every day. He knows he safe now, but everytime he flinches when someone goes to pet him or walks near him while he's eating it kills me. I know it's my mom's prayer that I never find out who had him before I did.

I just saw the update, apparently the dog died from it's injurieis but I see that they caught him.

I still think the media plays a big part in how Pitbulls are portrayed. In my city, I know that more people get bitten by dalmations than pitbulls, but that never seems to make the news.

people are insane. Why is this becoming such a big issue. Pets are put on this earth to love of and to get our love in return. Has people lost thier minds? Is this what the world is coming to? I could never hurt a creature that had complete and total trust in me. I would be put in jail too if someone hurt my Tango. It would be ON!

This is disgusting. I hope they find that man and he rots in jail. Tho he probably won't. Poor Ramkin. May he rest in peace. How awful. I too would go after the person who did that to my dog. My cat was terrorized when I got her b/c of my friend's boyfriend didn't like cats especially long haired ones. So poor Kylie was screwed. I have no use for the "boyfriend" now fiance' b/c I know what he did to Kylie. I know how I had to draw her out of her shell and get her so she isn't terrified when men come into my house. Eventually, my friend chose him over her friendship with me, and her love of animals. Thank God I got Kylie out of that situation.
Unfortunately, it was too late for her brother Max, who my friend kept and he "disappeared". Then they got a puppy from the Humane Soc and it went back b/c it was "too stupid" then she got another kitten that ended up with a broken leg, (it died but not b/c of the boyfriend, I honestly believe he had nothing to do with it, she had ear mites and infection that seeped into her brain, and then the one of the local vets (who my animals won't ever go to) tried to spay her and she died within 2 days) then she bought him a yellow lab, and lo and behold it ran away!! Yea right, at 6 mos of age. AND they live in town!!! And there was never any indication that it got hit on the road. WHATEVER!I have no use for ignorant people like the man in Philly and in this case.
Godspeed to the bridge Ramkin, where you won't be hurt ever again.

OMG How totally awful. What came over him to do something like that to a poor defenseless dog? I just don't understand.
At least poor Ramkin is at the Rainbow Bridge and is in pain no more.

This just makes me sick to my stomach just thinking of poor Ramkin trying to get away from that godforsaken kid. I am in tears. Poor Baby.
I hope they prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law. This is a sign he could be a danger to people also. They guy that threw Leo the Bichon out of the car into traffic beat a dog to death also when he was in the militiary.

Ugh!! That makes me so mad!! I don`t think that guy would like to be beaten! Maybe somebody should!!! Hopefully(if they do) he`ll get it into his head that animals don`t need to be treated like that!

Poor Ramkin!! Well now he`s in peace!! (with no one chasing him with a bat!! )

    RIP Ramkin!

He was in custody and was charged with cruelty to animals and possession of narcotics

    WHAT THE F###!!!!!!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!

A Dog attacks a person, gives it a few puncture wounds and gets put down, a human attacks a dog, the dog dies and the human gets a few fines. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD??!!?!?!?!?

I wish i could meet that mindless kid and beat eh living s*** out of him. He deserves it. UGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

The world is so messed up.

This pisses me off so much. They should put this foolish child in a ring and release dogs on him. Or atleast release us angry Pet Talkers on him!!!

How could someone do something like that? Where was their conscience? It breaks my heart to think about poor Ramkin being beaten up and suffering so much. I am still crying after I read the article 20 minutes ago.

Unfortunately, the fullest extent of the law for what this 17 year old did is not much. Pehraps a slap on the wrists, less than a year in jail and/or a fine. Whoopti Doo! Then what? Why aren't these laws more severe and the punishment fitting the crime?
I wish our government won't pass laws that would make animal abusers think twice.

R.I.P. Ramkin. I know that the abuser will not rot in jail, but I know for a fact he is going to burn in hell
