My dove, Flutters, died yesterday. I hand raised her from a little baby 7 years ago. She was almost never caged, she had free roam of my bird room. She had a cage, but it stayed open and she could go in it whenever she wanted. She loved to fly laps around the bird room and she could really get flying pretty fast. Yesterday she did just that, but she 'forgot' to turn and she flew into the window. Justin 'examined' her, but she was gone. He said it appeared she broke her neck and she had a huge mark on her head where she hit the window.
I love all my birds, but Flutters was without a doubt my favorite. She always got so excited and happy to be with me. She always liked to sit on my head. I feel so cheated, we should have had more time together. Nathan loved her, she was the only bird I let him pet (as of yet).
Here's a picture of her on my head. (It's not a good picture of me at all, my eyes aren't even open, but she loved to sit on my head.)
