    Miles Update.

A week or so ago Miles had a seizure. My parents took him to the vet and they did all sorts of bloodwork and tests. Everything came back clear. They also checked his thyroids. Which also came back fine. The only thing they noticed was his white blood cell count was up. He's been on medication. He had to go to the vet again a few days after the seizure because he somehow hurt his bag leg. It got severely swollen and he just layed around all day crying. He's been fine for a few days, but once again he hurt one of his legs. This time, the front leg. My parents don't know how he is doing it. I'm at work all day so I don't have any clue as to what goes on at home.
They also found out that he is 15 pounds over weight. I'm pretty much disgusted by that. [He's not my dog, obviously]. So he's now on medication for an infection they found at the first vet visit and is now on weight loss food. My parents are FINALLY making the effort to get his weight down. [After I've been telling them for MONTHS that he needs to lose weight or problems will occur. ]

Anyway, better later than never I guess.

I do have a few pictures I took today of the little guy.

Anyway. Thought I'd fill everyone in. He's doing better and we're hoping for a full recovery soon.

The heavy panting in the pictures is due to his injury. Poor little guy is really stressed out about all that has happened to him.

Bless his heart. I hope he does well with all the changes so he'll feel better. At least your parents saw the light, finally.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Ah, poor Miles. I have always had a soft spot for that chubby chihuahua boy. I hope the diet works and that his legs heal quickly. Hugs and snuggles for Miles.

I hope Miles starts to feel better soon. I'm glad your parents are putting him on a diet. I think he will feel better when some of the weight goes.

It's too bad it took this to finally make your parents realize he was overweight. Maybe they'll listen to you next time? But hopefully he will be healthy and happy again soon. Get better, Miles!!

My Zoee occasionally has seizures and all the tests came back clear too. It's a very scary thing to go through.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

My Moon is overweight (18 pound cat) and it's so hard to ignore his constant pleas for food (He literally walks me to his food bowl every chance he gets). I hope your parents are successful with their attempts at getting Miles down to a healthier weight... Thanks for the inspiration...I'll try harder with Moon

Get that little guy in a pool! Seriously though if your parents have access to water it's a great low impact way to get the weight off. Best wishes to the little guy.

I'm sorry you have to go through that too.
It's frustrating when they can't find any reason for the seizure.

    Dear Miles,

Please take your meds and follow the white coats instructions for losing a bit of eight. I am praying that you do lose weight, I know you will feel better.

    Hugs dear fella.
