    Darling Ophelia

Ophelia, how pretty you posed for your picture. I can see why you're the light of mommy and daddy's life. Who could resist such a girl, no wonder daddy brought you home instead of a kitten. I wish I could give you some belly rubs sweet girl. And who needs a ridge on their back when they already have a princess crown in mommy and daddy's eyes. Congratulations dear Ophelia on being our DOTD.

Happy Dog of the Day to you, Ophelia! Now that's what I call a mouthful You sure know how to squeeze every ounce of joy out of life, don't you sweetheart! And yes, you couldn't be more beautiful if you tried! (Those "ridges" are way over rated!) But it's your big heart, and loving ways that set you paws above all the rest, Ophelia! You're living proof, a testament to the priceless rewards of rescue! Enjoy your well earned reign as Dog of the Day with your proud parents, sweet baby girl! I'm sure your Mom and Michael are rolling out the red carpet, pulling out all the stops, in making your day an EXTRA special one! Slobbery kisses to you, beautiful Ophelia!

    Dogs and balls

Thanks so much for rescuing another beautiful animal. If you saw Oprah's recent show on puppy mills you know that so many cats and dogs never have a second chance at love and a family due to people not sterilizing or due to having weak laws (or none) prohibiting puppy mills.

Speaking of Oprah, when I saw the second picture of Ophelia I have to say I was worried. Oprah lost one of her beloved Goldens last summer when she swallowed a ball (http://www.people.com/people/article...046895,00.html) so please, everyone, be careful.
Please have your pets sterilized as soon as possible to lower, and one day hopefully eliminate, unwanted and abandoned pets. It IS our responsibility. Adopting from a shelter also helps - encouraging breeders just adds to the overpopulation.

Hi Ophelia....You are just a big pretty baby. I would love to have you.
I play tennis so I could give you all the tennis balls that you could play with.

Hello Ophelia! I can't believe you are 8 years of age, not in either of those photos! Hmm, I somehow doubt that tennis ball is much more than 8 MINUTES old, he hee. My Lacey chews up tennis balls really fast as well.

It sounds like Michael was having an 'off' day that time he went to the shelter; you don't look like a KITTEN, and you don't have a RIDGE but you are are SWEET! And he was just so susceptible to SWEET that day, that the minute you did your play bow, he was smitten. And now look, so many fun things have happened in your life all because he fell for your sweetness. You surely are one lucky pup and to top it all off, you are the Dog of the Day!
