Question: So is it ironic or sad that a proffessional comedian is now a senator?

Answer: No better, nor worse, than a song-and-dance man as Senator (George Murphy, R-Ca.).

There where 2 choices in my question, you choose to redirect instead of answering. I didnt ask if it was better or worse that a comedian was a senator now did I?

Now this leads me to wonder if Mr Franken is the first proffessional comedian to hold a seat as a representative?

OH, I am cracking up here.

I had never heard of George Murphy. He's dead 12 years and had such an impact on CA politics people have forgotten him.

Seriously, Sonny Bono is rolling around in his grave tonight, both of you forgot about him.Toss out a novena or a chant or whatever you all do to purge your souls - he's not here to defend himself....

    Was it Sonia Sotomayor?

Of course not....it was Samuel Alito.

    Now that is irony!

You can see it on the July 16 Jon Stewart Daily Show.

Sonny must have actually done something the lefties liked otherwise he would be trashed along with Mr Murphy.

Yes Jello is still with us, I think he might still be doing spoken word tours.

If she's been restrained up 'til now, I wonder what we can expect next week

Palin set to let the tweets 'fly'
    Posted: 06:01 PM ET

From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney

(CNN) — Sarah Palin says she's ready to be unleashed.

The Alaska governor, who is set to resign her post at the end of this month, took to the social networking site Twitter Friday to proclaim she's looking forward to being a little less restrained.

"10 dys til less politically correct twitters fly frm my fingertps outside State site," Palin declared.

"I'll stay in touch w/whomever wants via personal twtr site; launch July 26," she also tweeted.

The former GOP vice presidential candidate announced earlier this month she would step down at the end of July instead of serving out the remaining year and a half of her term.

Palin later told reporters she intends to spend her days out of the governor's mansion traveling the country in support of candidates — Republican or Democrat — whose ideas she agrees with.

I have not turned on the tube for most of the afternoon, but I can bet you THAT EVERYONE on the tube will say that WC "inspired them to become or persue a broadcasting career"

I wont take that bet, but offer this one....

I bet that every journalist that cried over OHB's presidential win, will remain dry eyed over the passing of a great news caster who knew how to be impartial.
