I tend to be very suspicious of the ones that give you a detailed list of what the want to do. Far different from what they can do!

We will make it out of this mess.

We'll have to tighten our belts a bit.

I just don't like it when politicians pass on the belt tightening and go have their entire wardrobes taken in, on our dime.
Well I have been with the state for 25 years so I would have to shoot my boss If this foot crud doesn't do me in my job is secure just not sure how much I will get but alas there are those worse off so I won't whine about it. We hired a guy from the private sector and he needs some good cheese to go with all that whine about the money

OK, I can't resist lobbing this grenade...*dons fireproof jammies*

California set itself up for this mess by passing Proposition 13 (I think) which makes it nearly impossible to raise taxes. Unfortunately, many states are forced to raise taxes during a recession. I know Libertarian types like blue are going to jump all over my s*** for this, but if folks want the Gov't to provide for them, they have to be willing to pay for it.

    Correct!

Prop 13 caused quite a stir at the time..The F-wads that voted FOR the measure, way back when, were the ones that complained the most about the shortage of services long after they forgot they voted it in.

    -------------------------

Here's a little trivia about Howard Jarvis-the author of Prop 13.

Jarvis played a small part/sight gag in the movie, AIRPLANE!

At the beginning of the movie, Robert Hays drives a cab to the front of the airport terminal. Hays leaves the cab, with Jarvis in the rear at the curb.

At the end of the movie Jarvis, with the meter in the cab still running, is shown waiting for Hays to come back.

Why would I jump your sh!t for that? The Kalifornia .gov is reaping what they have sown, they taxed and taxed and taxed, user fees up the ying yang and they still dont have enough enough for those with their hands out. The ones paying for the .gov programs put their feet down and good for them.

I cant see how raising taxes make things better.

What happened out here is the freaking population grew so fast-you would not believe the places where houses have been built-when you see the state burning and the houses going up in flames, I can guarantee you that those house are less than 10 years old.

The 'old rates' just can't support the influx of people.

That and the fact that everyone drives out here so the effing traffic and roads are the pits.

Put it this way, a 20 minute drive to work was a 2 hour fight to get home around holidays. One Thanksgiving eve it took me almost 2.5 hrs to get home.

Tax 'n' spend keeps getting us into messes, no matter whether it's the state, feds or whatever. I think once you get on the treadmill it's wicked hard to get off of it.

Can someone get our president a personality, not some speech on a teleprompter?

One of the funniest things about watching BO is the head movements he makes while 'giving' a speech as he reads.

The more I see it, the more I am reminded of some actor reading a script and acting out what is printed on the page. It's all pre packaged tripe with only a talking head to roll it around in their mouth, then tell us how it tastes.

You all just crack me up! You didn't like when we had a Republican Pres. You don't like the Democrate one. Is there any one you would like? Let us know now. Maybe we can have them run in next election. They should start campaigning for it soon.
No matter what anyone does, someone some where will be offended some how!!!!

We want someone without the baggage and ulterior motives.

It's all the same kind of BS.

The politicians today aren't men or women. They are the creation of the people who buy them and sit them in office.

IT's really not a matter of LIKING a politician.

    It's all about respect.

And I have more respect for the 'offices' than I have for the people that sit in them.

More respect for the desk chair then most of the elected officials sitting in them.

A newshead/talking head made this comparison-and how true is it?

During the last few years, making a big deal and slamming the government and the idiots who run it, was touted as being patriotic. It goes back to that old adage about questioning authority.

It was OK to clown on the previous administration. Now? You can't because you are a racist, a jerk and what ever else the supporters of the current government can call you.

Seems like what is good for the goose, just may be foie gras from the gander?

    ----------------------

Let me bring the "date night" trip up again.

This shows how dumb people are!

MO is shown in the crowd at the D-Day ceremony. Why is she there?

BO could have easily told her, "Hey, let's go paint the town in France next week instead of wasting all that taxpayer money by going to New York...."

Nope, he had to show off and make it a publicity stunt.

And what woman doesn't want to be treated to a night on the town with plane and helicopter flights? Golddiggers?

As I said before, I don't care who sits in the hot seat, as long as the are up front with how the run MY country.

Lots of luck with that one!!!

I noticed that most stations don't even bother to give the results on how many vote for Independent canidates any more. Here anyway.

So, the next loser, er president, will be a donkey or elephant. Those canidates will be chosen by big businesses! We just have to settle for the least of the two evils. (of course the way the big businesses are going bankrupt, someone else may have a tiny shot at getting in by then)

Not to worry you guys, I just heard this bit of news............

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Troubled by dwindling membership and numerous setbacks, the 155 year-old Republican Party filed for financial, intellectual and moral bankruptcy and announced its reorganization as a tax-exempt church. The new GOP will be officially called The First Church Of Jesus Loves America And Latter Day Lower Taxes Anti Foreigner Old Time Heterosexual Do As I say Not As I Do Affluence Ministry Hoop N' Hollerin' Revival Gun Lovin' Banker's Club Outreach Hootenanny, Inc but will still use the name "Republican Party" for most functions.

Experts think that few consumers will notice any difference.

I guess that kinda follows the Democratic Party for there ain't no Jesus in the Government, don't call them Illegals, Wetbacks or tacobenders and stay out of my computer files while I vacation overseas then complain about all the carbon that you are burning but for the love of GOD don't build a wind farm off of Martha's Vineyard because you can't drill in ANWAR but I will gladly pay for three planes two helicopters for a date night, all the while telling the GM and Pontiac and ther rest of the car companies that we own you now and we think scocialism is quite all right because the CIA lies to us and it's all man made disasters, not terrorism because I didn't want to have anything to do with the Muslim faith until I go give a teleprompter speech in the Middle East and the I did not have relations with that woman/that company/ those lobbyists Marching and Chowder Society?

At least The First Church Of Jesus Loves America And Latter Day Lower Taxes Anti Foreigner Old Time Heterosexual Do As I say Not As I Do Affluence Ministry Hoop N' Hollerin' Revival Gun Lovin' Banker's Club Outreach Hootenanny, Inc but will still use the name "Republican Party" for most functions do not have the top three bobos, With Number Three in line as the biggest worry, in office.

That may not be anything to acknowledge publically?
