    Manners Poll

When someone opens a door for you, do you say "thank you"?

And if you say NO to this poll, please explain why.

I rarely have someone open a door for me, but if someone holds a door open for me to get by I always say thank you. I also make it a point to open doors, or hold doors open if someone is right behind me. It's just good manners IMO.

I always say thank you - and it drives me absolutely bonkers when I hold the door for someone else and they don't!

When this happens I make a point to say "You're welcome" in a very polite voice. I don't mind pointing out that they were rude.

NO!!...........well unless Iīm in USA..........otherwise I say "Gracias" .......LOL which is the same........sory Iīm a dork and couldnīt help myself.........

Iīm always the one holding doors and the such, one thing I hate is when people stand right in front of you trying to go through and donīt say "excuse me".......I just wonīt move.......and I donīt care.......also when they walk like you have to be the one you moves as YOU are on THEIR way....oh no, donīt do that with me, īcause Iīll bump you HARD........LOL

I donīt know where somo peoples manners are, maybe they forgot at home or itīs laudry day but politeness will open more doors for you than rudeness.....

Not only do I say thank you, but I actually hurry a bit to get to the door. (sometimes they hold it while you are still somewhat far away.....I hate to make them wait)

That's why I created this poll. I always hold the door open for someone (like going into a store for instance - which is what I did this afternoon - and the bit$h who I opened it for didn't say "thank you"). RARELY does anybody say thank you anymore. When they do, I'm actually mortified and in shock!! I've said "you're welcome" on several ocassions and I've also slammed the door on somebody (when there were 2 doors and a person didn't say "thank you" after I held open the 1st door - so I slammed the door in their face and it gave me much pleasure ).

And it's people of all ages and sex - young, old, male and female! What is wrong with people? Where are the manners??!!

I know what you mean - I've also held the door for people behind me to take the door, and they breeze right past me never touching the door. GRRR!

Good manners are extremely important to me, i was raised that way, and hopefully instilled it in my children, although the younger one needs reminding sometimes,it does not take much to say a please and thank you and it goes along way, hubby and i rescued a toddler the other day who was alone in the shopping mall and was starting to play with the escalator, he hurt his hand and we just got him in time, no mum to be found, we finally found her in a store, she had a handful of children, but not even a thank you was said, sure she was probably a bit upset but geez it would not have hurt to say thank you.

I don't like people who don't have good manners. I always say "please" and "thank you".

I always say thank you or at least try to. I may have not said thank you once or twice and I feel ashamed when I don't. I rarley hold the door open for anyone unless they are close behind me because people never say "thank you" anymore.
