Humane Animal Treatment Society Hosting 8th Annual Tails and Trails Benefit Walk Mt. Pleasant, MI – The Humane Animal Treatment Society (HATS) hosts its 8th annual Tails and Trails Benefit walk on Sunday, September 23, 2007. The walk begins at 2 p.m. at Millpond Park, 607 S. Adams St. and ends at Island Park, 331 N. Main St. The Tails and Trails Benefit Walk raises money for the Isabella County Animal Shelter to fund the care of homeless animals in the area. HATS’ goal for the event is to raise $15,000. HATS invites Isabella County pet owners, pet lovers and even the pets themselves (dogs must be on a leash) to gather donations and participate in the walk. Registration forms and pledge sheets are located at all Mt. Pleasant veterinarian offices, the Isabella County Animal Shelter, various locations on the CMU campus, and Mt. Pleasant City Hall. All participants will receive a visor, a Have a Heart bracelet and doggie bandana. Participants raising $80 or more will receive an event t-shirt. Top pledge earners are eligible to win four (4) full day passes to Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark in Boyne Falls, MI, a round of golf with cart at Riverwood Resort in Mt. Pleasant, a three night stay for their dog at Lakeside Kennels in Weidman, MI, or a free dog grooming from Diane Kovacs. Food and refreshments will be available at both Millpond Park and Island Park. There may also be appearances by the local police K9 unit and the Mt. Pleasant Kennel Club.
