District attorney in N.C. was disbarred

Hey everyone, I heard on the news last night that the state of North CArolina disbarred the prosecutor who was involved with the case of the Duke University lacrosse players. But he'll be eligible to get his license back in five years. I was just wondering, what happens to the case now? And what happens to the prosecutor now, can he practice law in other states? That whole case just seems goofed up to me, lots of he/she/they said and not a lot of facts.

um....what do you mean by not a lot of facts? i thought it was pretty clear the stripper lied. DNA evidence showed SEVERAL other men had left their mark in the stripper but none of the people from the party were ever linked. the state attorney general declared them innocent...thats more than not guilty....it's innocent. even mike nifong the prosecutor admitted he broke the rules of ethical conduct.

the facts are that nifong called the duke players "hooligans" in the initial days of the trial. He made inflammatory remarks and created a bias in the minds of average americans. He is a perfect example of an out of control member of the judicial system. thank god we have checks and balances and thank god the system works. I'm glad there is a process in place to remove people like him from the justice system. I'm really sorry, but I feel strongly about this topic. he is a bad apple.

Exactly the point the CNN article makes. He withheld evidence - lied to the judge - and made such provocative statements about the 3 players. Put his own interests ahead of the right outcome. Thanks for the article.
