Thread: Sherman #369 He is gone.

I am so sorry that things are going this way. Dear, dear Sherman... though I've never met you, I've read all about you on this site and have loved seeing your smiling face. Be a brave boy, and tonight when you go to the Bridge, know that all of here at PT are mourning you, and wishing they could do something to have made you well again. Also know that we wish you to be free from pain, and to be healthy and happy and romping once again. Bless you Sherman. Big hugs and kisses to you.

I'm so very sorry. Those of us that have been down this road know how difficult this is. My heart is breaking for you all. I'm glad that your RB dog Rosie is there to make sure his passing is a smooth one. I hope my angels I loaned him will calm him, and you, also. Animals are so special and this is part of the risk we take when letting them into our hearts. But the grief doesn't outweigh the happiness and joy they give to our lives. Your Sherman is a very special gift that God gave you. It's time for him to be called to his final home, where he will play without pain, always remembering the love of his family. The day we're reunited will be a happy one, indeed. I know from experience that nothing can take away the pain but I hope all of our words can bring you comfort, if even for a few brief moments.
    Written through many tears,
    Val

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

You know I thought of you guys on the way to the vet this morning, and i said a prayer for all of you and for sherman that if it was bad news with the test results, God would give all of you the strength and show you a way to do what needed to be done. Have a safe trip to the Bridge sweet Sherman.
May God continue to bless and give all of you strength and peace.
    Im so very sorry.

    I know all too well the pain of losing a dog so young. It makes you feel so cheated. But nothing can take away the years we did have with our beloved pup. Sherman had a great life with his family. He will soon be at the Rainbow Bridge and besides your Rosie I just know all of the Pet Talk angels will come running to greet him. I will keep you close in my thoughts and prayers this evening. {{{hugs}}}

...thinking of you every second Pat.
I'm leaving work and won't be online again maybe late tonight.

My cell phone will be on for you!

I love you Sherman... I pray your trip to the bridge is peaceful, I know you'll be surrounded by love during your passing. Please know that you were loved by many many people, and of course one little GSD girl that you showed how to be a husky.

Once your settled in at the bridge, don't be a stranger! Feel free to stop by my house and make your presance known at my house! Sierra would love it.

This is not a light nor quick decision. So please, no critisism.
You will find none of that here - just deep sorrow at the loss of such a gorgeous young dog and endless compassion for his family who did all they could for him. Bless you all

Oh dear Sherman, I'm sorry it has to end this way. My heart aches for your mom, dad and Star. They are going to miss that fluffy fur, those big beautiful eyes and your soft kisses. So will all of us that have had the pleasure of meeting you.

I've had a candle lit for you all day. From the sound of it, by the time my flame burns out you will be on your way to the bridge. I'll light another one though, just in case it gets dark out and you have a little trouble seeing while your headed to the bridge. Have fun with Rosie and when you get settled will you please visit with my RB kids Angus & Keisha (I'm sure Angus will be much nicer there than he was at the park)
Have a good trip and know you will be sorely missed all over the world.

Pat, it's taken me forever to sit here and write this. I'm surprised I could get the words down in between wiping my tears and blowing my nose. The monitor just seemed so blurry.
I'm gonna miss that handsome man of yours. Will you please give him a extra big (((((HUG))))) and some smooches from all of us here at the house? Thanks.

Your kids are gonna have a ball at the bridge.

    oh Pat -
    I'm sorry I wasn't able to post sooner -
i-net was out bc of local storms.
Sherman - big guy - you rest easy now and take care and send your mom and dad a sign when you get up there.
There are going to be some familiar faces for you to meet and lots of new ones to snuggle with.
Make sure you visit the grandma section for treats!
we love and will miss you.....
