Pat, please know that I'm here for you.

Please give a kiss and a hug to Sherman from his fur-ever sweetheart Sierra and myself.

You are doing the right thing for Sheman.
It's not fair what has happened to him, and it also wouldn't be fair to let him suffer any longer.

Millions of {{{hugs}}] being sent to you all.

My heart breaks for you and your family. You are so brave to let Sherman go before he is in too much pain. I am truly sorry that you have to part with your baby so soon, but God needs him now.

I said a prayer that Sherman has a beautiful welcome into heaven, and that my precious Graham is one of the many souls who will bring him in.

    I am so sorry.

    A Dog's Prayer

Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world’s sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footsteps falls upon my waiting ear.

When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements. And I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land, for you are my god and I am your devoted worshiper.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life should your life be in danger.

And, beloved master, should the great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest - and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

I've lit a candle to help guide the way, Sherman.

I'm at work so I can't view this thread for very long....LES

RIP sweet Sherman. You are so loved by so many people all around the world.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

All of us with a very heavy heart will be grieving with you. I guess we just have to focus on a joyous reunion at the Rainbow Bridge for Sherman and picture him running - pain free - having fun - until you meet again.

    Sweet Sherman

Hu-Mom and Dad, and of course Star,
We are so sorry to hear of this news. We are crying with you, as we know what it's like to lose a dog you're so close to. Please know we've been thinking of you and lifting you up in prayer. We know it's not an easy time...but hang in there. Take care all. We miss you at the Findlay dog park!
    Love,
