    Chewy's Eye?

My cousin called me about her Maltese, Chewy. He had just gotten home from the groomers and his eye was very red and bulging she said. I asked her to send me some pictures, because it sounded like cherry eye but I don't think it is now.

She asked the groomer and she said she's not sure what's wrong with it. Do you think she possibly got him with the scissors or something?

I think it could well be irritated by either the hair prior to be cut or by the cutting of the hair and a few got inside..... or even some stain solution they end to use on white dogs..........not sure........my thought of cherry eye is a way more bulgy eye but I could be wrong.......hopefully they can get some eye flushes.........

not sure if there are some eye drops to help made for doggies........like visine tears or the like, but not sure about usage on pups

I wouldn't take ANY chances ... he's only got two eyes!

Run him over to the Vet's and get a Professional Opinion and First Aid.

Part of me says that might be cherry eye, but I dont know if they can get them at the top lid or not. Reilly had that on his bottom lid, so im not sure, either that or maybe got snipped with the scissors.

It looks bloodshot. Kinda like they could have stabbed his eye and broke blood vessels.

It looks like an ulcer to me. I would have her get the dog checked out by the vet ASAP!

"That dog" Chewy, has already saw a vet - tonight. They gave him some drops to put in 3 times daily. They believe it was just straining from the groomers.

Sorry if "that dog" sounded rude. Wasn't intended!

That's good to hear that Chewy went to the vet. At least it wasn't really, really bad.

Get well soon, Chewy! Take your drops like a good little boy!
Thank you so much for my siggy, kittycats_delight!

poor guy. I am sure he'll be better in no time and hopefully the groomer will be more careful next time.
