Female Great Dane needs new home in SC.

We recently rescued a female great dane from a private home where she wasn't being fed properly and she had been kept as a breeder. They kept breeding her to her dad and some of the puppies were deformed and died at birth or shortly after.
As it turns out, this is Skylar's mom. The lady we got Skylar from gave her to her ex husband and he wasn't caring for her properly. I know that dogs lose weight when they have puppies, but she only weighed 96.6 lbs., when her normal weight is 135-150 lbs.
We just can't keep her even though we would love to if we could.

She is still a little bit underweight but she is definitely looking a lot better than she did when we first got her 8 days ago.

Her name is Belle. She is AKC registered. She is UTD on her shots. She is also housebroken and very friendly. She gets along well with other dogs once she gets to know them.

Here is the only pictures I have of her right now. They were taken with my cell phone the day we got her, though you can't really tell how skinny she was.

Please e-mail me at molucass20 @ aol . com , I don't have a computer at home, but I will check my e-mail every few days.

We are located in Walterboro, South Carolina and would prefer someone locally or at least in South Carolina.

Aww, Belle looks like a sweetie. She looks like she has a heart shape
on her lip. I wish her the best of luck.

How old is she? Is she HW-? Can she be spayed yet? How is she with other dogs?

I have a friend in MN that does rescue and she could probably place her in a minute.

I sent this to someone I know from online who is in Texas that has several Danes that she has rescued. Perhaps she knows of someone who can help out.

oh my goodness! Poor thing! I wish I could help, but with my recent investments and rescue pups I'm in no position to help. Keep us updated and Good Luck!

P.S. I've helped get dogs to the rescue in MN that mugsy is talking about. She'd be helped and placed in no time at all.

She will be 3 years old on March 21st.

She definitely needs to be spayed, but as of yet she hasn't been. We also have 3 puppies that we rescued, and they have just about tapped out the vet funds. She is heartworm negative though.

She gets along good with our other dogs. She gets a little grumpy when the puppies jump up on her, but she has never tried to bite them. She just gives a low growl, and they leave her alone. It took her a few days to warm up to our other dogs, but once she did, she is fine.

Oh, and yes, Walterboro is near Charleston. It's about an hr. away from there.

wow, she looks a lot like Dakota! So how far is South Caroline from Findlay, Ohio? Just kidding a Great Dane is a little big for our already crowded 5 dog house (especially when all the granddogs come bringing the number up to 11!)
