    Hiking at Daley Ranch

Had a day off and the weather was perfect for a hike, so I headed out to a place called Daley Ranch . There's the old ranch house, some run down buildings, and many miles of trails for everyone to use. The house is currently not open to the public, but the land is.

I took Frankie too, here's the thread with her pictures: Frankie on a hike

Here's the non-Frankie pictures of the hike:

Another view of the barn. I really liked the old buildings; just wonder how long they'll continue to stand:

Some of the other old buildings:

This one was so cool. The water company provided a tank and pump for potable drinking water. There's also a troft and bucket for horses and dogs:

    Still some more:

I took so many tree pictures. Not sure why I was so stuck on these trees:

I'm going to try and merge these together into a panorama:

The reflection below the sun is the ocean way off in the distance:

And lastly some sunset pictures as we were leaving:

Sorry for so many pictures. Just had a lot of fun out there, it was so peaceful.

I enjoyed the photos of the old buildings. A friend and I recently spent a good 2 hours taking photos of some old railroad cars, for some reason old structures are rather fascinating. The sunset photos turned out very nice too!

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

The tarantulas are kind of hit and miss. They are out in the hills, but they seem to stay off the trails. So I'd say they are common, but people don't see them all that much. They like the thick brush and fallen foliage.

Here's some pictures that I took today. Got some better shots of the house itself:

From a ridge on the other side. There was no way I could have got this picture without the zoom on the new camera.

Had to leave in a hurry because the weather turned really quick.
