Thread: Shadow game

    Question Shadow game

I have two dogs, but one of them has an odd problem I can't figure out. Whenever I take them out for a walk, Angel (my long legged dachsund, I might add) tries to 'chase' shadows. It slows Daisy and me down. Though it's easy to pick her up and carry her away, I just want to make sense of her habit. Also, when there's a lot of light in the house, she'll schase and bark at shadows there too. Please help me understand!

I had a rat terrier when I was younger that did that very same thing. If I remember right, The way we got her to stop was we leashed her and walked her up to shadows that were stationary to show her that it wasn't "real" and that she couldn't play with it. How old is she? It also might be that she is still a puppy and doesn't grasp the concept of what shadows are yet. Hope this helped!

Thanks. Yes, she's a puppy. And I might try that suggestion. Thanks a bunch! Why didn't I think of that?
