UPDATE!! PUPPIES!! -- The puppies have dropped

The puppies have dropped lower in Visa's abdomen. She went from being big, to being really small. So it looks like it may be a small litter. Marla has never had a Belgian this small at this point in the pregnancy and she's had litters as small as four, so we're a little bit worried as we need atleast four puppies so one can cover the stud fee. She may just be having small puppies, but it would be odd since she's eating raw and typically raw puppies are alot bigger and develop more quickly (at the very young puppy age). Could also be that she's having them a week later than we'd thought, but since the puppies have dropped, her time is definatly coming up.

As we speak, two foster kittens have just finished tying to nurse from her and are now curled up asleep on her hehe.

Anyways, she has 3-7 days left! She's paying alot of attention to her "downstairs" so I'm going to give her to Marla tomorrow.

about 6-7 years ago I had a female that only if you knew her in advance you could say she was pregnant, very small tummy, and on "the day" she delivered 12 healthy puppies(small but not that small)........and all got to grew up nicely.........so who knows.......

can we see some pics..............awwww.........just a few more days.......

hoping you can reach your next pillarhood on this event

ETA: is she already showng milk? if you (gently) squeeze a nipple does it milks? if so you are looking to 7 more days or less.......

if she just dropped a belly it couls be between 7-15 days in my experience, but it depends in the very own dog, when mine drop they take 15 days to deliver..........

Do Belgians have, typically, large litters?

The average is 6-8 -- Marla has only had one litter outside the 6-8 range in 15 years. It was a litter of 4. Even then the dog was way bigger than Visa is -- since the puppies have dropped she doesn't even look pregnant. Marla even had to feel her yesterday to make sure she hadn't aborted them, she's so thin. I can still feel movement in there though, and the chances of feeling movement with only one puppy probably isn't huge. Small litters in Belgians isn't common at all, it'll be weird if it is a small one.

I bet they sure wish.....(it smells really sweet, not sure about taste though)

i´ll be waiting for those pics

milk production is a very certain sign, when you see milk, no later than 7 days she should be in labor, as she is already producing it for her soon tobe born pups.........check on that........
