Canada Remembers: Air Show 2006, Saskatoon *PICS*

I was in Saskatoon the past week visiting relatives. We did a lot, but the funnest thing was going to the Air Show, dedicated to the veterans. Here are a some pictures. Sorry, I don't remember any names of the planes except for one.

None of these pictures are to be reproduced. They are copyright me. You have been warned.

The beautiful Buffalo (Canadian).. a search and rescue plane. The plane that requires the shorest amount of distance to land and take off in the world. There are only 9 still flying in Canada.

Here's a bomber plane, I'm pretty sure it was American.

No one expected her to drop bombs! She flew by several times, dropping bombs.. I think everyone must have soiled themselves the first time one exploded. LOL

    More coming . . .

    More coming . . .

One of the planes in the show; I can't remember what it is..

This was one of my favourite planes, my all time favourite is the F15 Eagle, though.

    Two more coming . . .

And here are two random pictures of hot air balloons right over my Aunt's house.

    That's all, folks! I hope you've enjoyed!

    Those are some great pictures!

I used to love going to the Toronto Air Show at the CNE -- but its been a number of years now since i've been in town on a Labour Day long weekend to see them (I think that 1998 might have been the last one).

The Snow Birds are always a great show, as well as the water-drop plane (can't remember the name) showing how to scoop up and drop water to combat forest fires.

We get a good showing by the Americans in the show as well (F16s etc), but its always kind of odd watching the Stealth plane flying around the Toronto Skyline!

    The photos are beautiful!!!

And, as an aside, simply because you say, "these are copyrighted" doesn't make it so. Anyone could still use these photos- just an FYI

The air show pictures were taken with an Olympus Stylus 300 (my Grandma's; only 3x optical zoom, that's how close the planes were! ).

The hot air balloon pictures were taken with a Kodak Z700 (my Aunt's; 5x optical zoom).
