Cat makes a dangerous 40 mile trip

I was alerted to this news item from another list and went to the Toronto Humane Society website for the details. A 2 year-old cat was found inside the wheel-well of delivery truck after the driver made a trip from Hamilton to Toronto (roughly 40 miles). How darling! I am sure if they get this story thru all the media, the owner will come forward. VERY RELIEVED too!

I hope the owners, former or new, keep her as an indoor kitty

Gary, if she had known about the Found Cats Hotel, I am sure she would have wandered there instead!

Poor baby still looks a little bewildered by her experience. I'm glad she's

Her purrents named her Tilly...and I sure hope this young gal is an indoor cat from now on. Or maybe she was, and made the mad dash out the door!

I am glad that that little Cat made it home.
As I live in an industrial area, theres a chance that Rambling Rose could have visited.
Of course she would have had to compete with Scratchy 2, Doris , Ralphie and Cat Zilla.
But if I had seen her I would have fed her.
Bright Eyes had roast beef last night!

There was a similar happening on the New Jersey Turnpike not that long ago. A family left Newark on a trip to southern New Jersey not knowing that a cat was hiding under the car. As they were driving along the Turnpike at 60-65 mph, another driver noticed the cat hanging on to an axle and was able to signal the driver who immediately pulled off tthe roadway near Bordentown, some 50 or so miles from Newark. Kitty was placed in the car and safely brought to a nearby shelter. A vet check at the shelter indicated no injury or physical trauma to the kitty. Sadly, I can't recall if the family adopted the cat or if it remained at the shelter.
