my trip to the humane society *PICS*

i went to the humane society today. i remembered to take my camera this time.

    pit bull mix puppy.

shepherd mix and pit bull mix puppy.

boxer mix pups. these guys have been there for over a month. i'm afraid they don't have long.

if i had enough money with me i would have adopted this guy for my boyfriend. a bluetick pup. he was ADORABLE and sweet as could be. i told my boyfriend about him and he said he'd go see him tomorrow. this is a bad pic of him.

    more in next post...

    kitties.

this little dog is only 7lbs. she was litterally vibrating she was so scared. i opened her kennel and she jumped in my arms and burried her head in my arm. i HATED leaving her. she was abandoned because the owners said she "wasn't cute anymore."

    that's all.

unfortinatly the shelter's adoption rate is about 10% i'm working on getting rescues to take some of the dogs.

i agree! the little dog is adorable. i showed my mom and she said "you can't show that to me. i'll want to go get her."

    So sad.
I'll start off with saying that I'd have taken one of those Boxer mixes in a heartbeat, how adorable!
The Husky mix reminds me so much of Skylar... even the expression on his face!
Those kittens! How can anyone resist that?!

I feel soo sorry for that little dog. ;__; Not cute anymore? How insane.aww, so heartbreaking.

My mum and I are going to the local pound tomorrow. I'll try to remember my camera.

Honestly, when I stop by my SPCA every few weeks for Logan to visit (they love seeing how great she is and looks) I can't even go into the kennel. It just breaks my heart. How can people be so cruel to abandon a dog who they don't think is cute anymore? I'm sure when people see "pitbull mix" they go into a panic and walk right past.
All those dogs are adorable! I don't know how you can stand it. I'd be crying constantly. When things get better for me, financially and physically, I'm getting another dogster. I will hug and kiss all those dogs in my mind before going to bed.

It's so strange seeing all of those animals in the shelter -- over here, they wouldn't last an hour. The shelter here doesn't do a huge background check on applicants or anything, they are basically a pet shop. The animals go so quickly (except adult cats) and there are huge waiting lists. Puppies especially don't last.
