Another Mast Cell Tumor for Nicholas!!!

While I was grooming Nicholas yesterday, I was running my hand down his neck, and oops!! WHAT WAS THAT??? I tried to look, but ended up having to shave the spot. The lump was very small. But, in February, Nicholas had a mast cell tumor removed from just below his right ear. The new lump looked TOTALLY different. Off to see Dr, Ascher after work this afternoon. By the look of concern on her face after she looked at it, I knew it was not good. She got a syringe and aspirated a teeny tiny bit from the lump, stained it, and looked at it under the microscope. She came back into the exam room and said she had expected to see a " few " mast cells, but this was LOADED with them!!!
Nicholas will be going in on Wednesday evening and have the surgery on Thursday. I know he will not be happy being there overnight, but I leave for work at 530am and Barry cannot drive just yet with the " cast " on his leg. If you can, please remember Nicholas in your prayers. He will be celebrating his 10th birthday on July 22nd!! Sandra
