New macros with the Canon PowerShot S2

I'm still busy taking macro shots, but still, I have to use a flash most of the time, otherwise they turn out too blurry. But some of them are not too bad, I think.

    I especially like this one:

    Encounter

    Hungry

    Fly

    Yummy!

    Not feeling well

    Orange Lily

I know some of you here have the S2, too, or are planning on getting it. I'd like to hear about your experiences. Maybe we can help each other learning to handle it.

Kirsten - I just had to post about the Not Feeling Well! HOW CUTE!

You might want to frame that one with the caption: "I Need A Hug."

    LOL!

I saw that poor little guy dead on the floor, only hours after I took the photo.

If I grow up, I wanna take shots just like you.

Kirsten, I'm still trying to figure out my Canon A700. When you set your camera to Macro mode, do you change any other settings, or do you just point and shoot? Did you use the zoom feature or did you really have the camera that close to the subject?

Thanks! I was extremely lucky with the "Encounter" photo, a great moment to capture!

@Slick: I use the super macro mode (don't know if the A700 has that one, too). And yes, I really have the camera that close to the object. The zoom does not work when I'm in super macro mode; it's inactive.

BTW, the last one, the lily photo, was taken with the zoom, not with the macro mode, it actually is no real macro.

Awesome! I love it. I really need to learn how to use my camera. I have a hard time understanding the whole camera language though..lol. I'm hoping to take a digital photography course this fall with my dad, maybe I can learn something.

After your last macro thread and the pointers from you and Kay I did run outside and took a few quick shots and I couldn't beleive the difference. They aren't good but at least I know a bit more and can practice and learn. I'll have to find a good subject too.

So if you have any more tips please pass them along! I'm going to be writing them down.

wow, those are beautiful! I'm gonna have to figure out if our camera has a super-macro setting. I looked in the instruction book, but didn't see anything about it listed.
