Is it ok if the betta tanks don't have gravel?

I was just wondering because it is such a pain to clean out all the gravel every time I clean the tanks. Thanks

    Its fine.
Half of my tanks have gravel and half of them don't. The ones without gravel seem to keep a bit cleaner longer.

All of my tanks are gravel free.

Yep, its's totally fine. A few of my tanks have sand and the rest don't.. no difference what-so-ever.

Doing reserch in the pass, their is bacateria that lives in the gravel, that help eat the waste fish make. But it's fine, I like gravel because it brings a decoration too.
Thanks so much Ashley for the siggy!

The bacteria is only useful for a cycle.. but unless your tank is 5-10 gallons or more (10 gallons or more preferred), it's useless trying to get a cycle. For anything smaller than a 10 gallon, very little could cause the cycle to crash and make it an unstable environment for the betta.

ok got it. I wasn't quite sure, I read it in a book so i guess they were referring to a bigger tank.

Thank you! I am getting tired of cleaning the gravel from all of my betta tanks.
