Hang on while I access the American Kennel Club Web site so I know which dogs go with which groups!

Sporting group: Golden retriever, Labrador retriever or Nova Scotia retriever (sorry, I can't narrow it down any further than that)

    Hounds: PBGV, Borzoi, beagle

    Working group: Newfoundland

    Terrier: Wheaten terrier or Westie

Toy group: Papillon or Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Non-Sporting Group: American Eskimo or Keeshond

Herding: (boy, this is hard!) Forget it, I'm not choosing. One of each dog in the group. Start with a border collie, please. Make sure they know they are going to get lots of hugs.

    Miscellaneous: Leonberger, Czech Wolfdog

But- if someone told me I could have a pure-bred dog tomorrow, what breed should it be? I think it would probably be a Papillon because of where I live. I need a proper house and a safe yard in order to have a dog bigger than a toy breed!
