Are your dogs or cats often mistaken for the wrong gender?

Tango is almost always mistaken for being a male dog, I don't know why, maybe its her coat colour? Maybe its her name (Tango is seen as a male name it seems)? She looks pretty feminine to me, but maybe that's just because she's my dog. I rarely have anyone know that she's female unless I specifically tell them (and even then, some people don't seem to 'get it'!). Morgan is sometimes mistaken for a male, but not often. Winston or Tia never are. It doesn't really bother me, just kinda confuses me sometimes I guess. So, are your dogs every mistaken for the opposite gender?

Happy is ALWAYS mistaken for a boy. not one single person has ever called her "she" without me saying she is a girl. mostly I think its her name, its sounds pretty gender neutral to me, but I guess most dogs named "Happy" are boys lol

Blair is very often mistaken for a girl, also because of his name. I can only think of it as a boys name because I have never heard of a girl named Blair, but apperntly there was an old TV show staring a girl named Blair or something.

the rest are pretty clear as far as male-female goes.

    I voted no.

Duke: he just LOOKS like a boy, I don't know, but no one has ever thought he was a boy. Also you can tell when he barks, I think.

Ace: Nope, he just looks like a boy too and, like Duke when he barks you can also tell he's a boy because of his deep pitched voice.

Hobo: He can be mistaken as a girl. but you can tell he's a boy because he hasn't had his 'snip' job yet

Sooooo many people think Kiara's a boy. I think it's the black dog syndrom. So many people assume black dog = mean boy dog.

Simba is usually a she.. but I can see why since he's so prissy.
Nala is the only one who isn't mistaken often.

Kai's always referred to as "she". I think it's cause of his fluffy coat.. it makes him "pretty" apparently.

lol I would have guessed the other way round! I would not they Kai could possably be mistaken for a girl because his head is so broad and male looking..Kaeden on the other hand I could see mistaken for a girl because he has a finer head.

Molly is sometimes mistaken for a boy. I'm not sure why though. Prince is sometimes mistaken for a girl, because he is small and I guess his patriotic leash and collar make him look 'feminine'. Astra ,luckly, has always been called a she.

Sometimes people mistake Teddy for a she but for the most part I am always talking to him when someone is near. So they often hear his name before approaching us Plus I think he looks like a boy lol

but we do get the odd person that says she.

For me... for some reason I always refer to the big dogs as he and the small dogs as she lol. No idea why

R.I.P my dear Sweet Teddy. You will be missed forever. We love you.

Yeah, everyone just says "he" about all the dogs unless they ask first- it's kind of hard to tell what most dogs are at first in my opinion though!
