    My Puppy

    I drove 6 1/2 hrs each way to New Brunswick this past weekend to pick up new puppy. It was such a long drive but worth it. Eika (pronounced "Eye-ka") is a 14 week old Giant Schnauzer. She's my 3rd Giant and my Schutzhund prospect. Anyway, on to pics...

    congratulations! its always worth the trip to get them! Good luck on the schutzhund! have u done it before or is she the first, i love schutzhund, its my favorite dog sport! please post tons of pics! shes gorgeous.

    Congratulations, she's a cutie pie! There is a local couple here who have a very handsome pair of Giant Schnauzers that they hook up with a bright red cart and take to local events - quite a sight! I had never seen a Giant Schnauzer before. They're really big!

    I have heard of Schutzhund many times before... but not quite sure exactley what it is?!

    Thanks everyone! Don't be fooled by those pics she's quite the hellion.

    I've done a bit of Schutzhund in the past with my first Giants Dam but that was back in the early 90's. Eika comes from solid working lines and has tons of drive.

    Schutzhund is Obedience, Tracking, and Protection.

    Her name is German. She was named by the breeder and knew her name when I got her so I stuck with it. I'm not sure what it means I forgot to ask.

    My sister wants a giant schnauzer someday. She still lives with my parents right now and they won't let her get a large dog, so she's waiting.
