Ah, fresh snow! pics and videos

We got some fresh snow overnight, not that we really needed it, but fresh stuff is always nice.

The dog trail out of the yard is getting narrower all the time! Good thing the sled isn't all that wide!

More and more sweeper trees too! A "sweeper tree" will sweep the musher right off the sled if you aren't paying attention!

Which is why this video is a little wobbly in spots. I had to duck alot! Dogs this morning were Paxil-Mac, Ozzy-Pacer, Anvik-Franklin. I ran another team tonight, but no pics of them, too dark.

This one is coming back across the lake, almost home. The lake is much easier to shoot on! No ducking and the dogs have settled into their pace by then(about 13 miles into their run today)

Mac continued his leader training today. He did really well and rewarded himself with a snowbath when we got home. It's been -40C all week, the -24C this morning felt like Spring!

That first pic is just breathtaking! And I've said it numerous times but I'm going to say it again. I am so jealous! I know the dogs are a lot of work and all but look at the reward. Mac with his snowbath is just too cute.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

What you need is a "Helmet-Cam" like the sky-diver photographers use ...
no hands needed - film where you're lookin ...
AND - "Sweeper Protection" as a bonus!

Whoo-Hoo that sled ride was a lot of fun, thanks (especially since I didn't have to bundle up and go out in the cold).
