My dearest Sydney went to the Rainbow Bridge today. Kidney failure finally got the best of him.
Rest in peace, my beloved boy. I'll join you again, forever, at the Rainbow Bridge.. One Fine Day.

I'm saddened as well, it hurts so bad to lose one of our precious babies..
I wish there were more than words to help you with your sorrow, (hugs)
Sydney, safe trip to the bridge, I know you feel so much better, so play hard baby.
Ah, Pat, I am so sorry. He had a wonderful life with you, and as you say - you will be with him again

Godspeed, precious Sydney....
Thank you so much, dear friends.
Pat, I am so sorry for your loss. Even knowing his condition, we always hope and pray that the end will come 'later' not now. RIP Sydney.

Oh Pat, I'm sorry. Rotten CRF! At least now he's free of all illness and pain but his love for you lives on just as yours does for him. RIP, sweet Sydney and peace to you, Pat.
Thank you so very much, dear friends, for all your kind thoughts and wishes and words of comfort.
And Candace, thank you for posting that photo. Sydney is playing with one of the catnip mousies sent to him by his beloved Scrappy 2!
My sister said: "He’s talking with Nelson now in the Summer Lands, and they’re looking for some string to play with. "
(My sister's cat Nelson passed away recently, and I posted about him here. Sydney and Nelson were both members of the world-famous Kitty Celtic Catmobile Combo, Sydney one of the bagpipers and Nelson the Sean-Nos singer.)
I replied: "Thank you, Sis. That's so nice to think of Nelson greeting him. I bet Sydney's already playing the pipes and Nelson is singing some Sean Nos! "
and she responded: "Yes, Nelson is singing 'The Wayfarer’s Welcome' to Sydney, and Syd is accompanying him on the pipes. They’re making beautiful music together. And the angels sing."
I am so sorry about Sydney.
I am so sorry for your loss. I'm sure you did all you could for Sydney. I believe you'll see him again one day.
I'm so sorry, Pat. Cherish all the wonderful memories you have of your time together - until you meet again. {{{HUGS}}}
Rest in peace, dear Syndey. Your Mom is sure gonna miss you. Purr in her ear occasionally so that she'll know all is well with you.
Hateful disease! I've had to say "so long" to two of mine because of it. It's a great day for Sydney, but a heartbreaking one for you. The emptiness in your home and in your heart is vast, I know, but remember that Sydney is gloriously alive, perfectly healthy, and blissfully happy! Cry for yourself, for you need to do that, but force a smile, no matter how slight, for him and the happiness he now knows - and is waiting to share with you! May Sydney's Creator comfort you and help you to find peace.
Rest in peace, pretty one.
Pat, I'm so sorry for your loss.:( RIP sweet Sydney.:( Please take care. (((HUGS)))
Such kind words from so many good, kind friends.. Thank you so much. God bless you all.
Love from Pat and the other six cats, and from Sydney Angel :love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
So sorry to read of Sydney's passing.:( He is now pain free & able to play as he did as a kitten.
Im sure you will miss him, but you both will re reunited again one fine day.
SOMEBODY (could it be Princess Poppaea Sabina Eugenia?) seems to have stepped in to perform one of Sydney's previous practices:
Crapping in the bathtub.... !!! ???
Pat, please accept my belated condolences on the passing of Sydney. He fought a gallant battle, and went to the Bridge well loved. He will be sorely missed.
I am so sorry to read of Sydney's passing.
RIP Sydney
Thank you so much, wonderful friends. I love you all so much.
They're all kind of figuring out the new dynamics, who goes where when, now that Sydney is not physically present. It certainly is inspiring to see that bathtub-crapping carries on!
Love from us all
I'm so sorry about Sydney. He must have left Princess his "poop in the bathtub" proxy. I'm convinced that when my cats have passed, another takes on some of his or her mannerisms. Spike, for example, never liked a belly scritch until after TicTac passed; now he can't get enough of them!
oh my dearest pat i am so sorry to read this, i know how much you did for sydney and the love you had for him, but sadly like my ash renal failure does finally take its toll, rest assured he will be at peace now,my heart felt sympathy goes out to you , i know the heartache you feel, even though we are prepared for the inevitable, it still does not ease the pain, we love them so much and it feels so empty when they leave us.
Sending you lots of love and hugs at this very sad time, i am thinking of you across the miles, PM me anytime, here for you as you were for me in my time of sorrow.:love::love:
I am so sorry. My heart aches for you....Godspeed Sydney!
:(
We are sorry that we missed this thread yesterday Meeowmie In Law Pat, but our Pawpie had to go to the White Coats, and had to leave the computer early.
This is Scrappy Two, and because Sydney and I are wed , I was able to be there when your Dear Cat Companion was initiated as an Awesome Angels.Sydney looks so handsome in his Wings of Silver and Gold, and we have dispensations to be together on Holidays and will take turns visiting the Found Cat Hotel and of course Your Loving Home.
We are all taking Sydney to the King's Buffet for lunch today, and then going to the Great Seafood Restaurant for an Angel Feast!!!!
Sydney does not want you to be sad as we will all be together again as Angels in Paradise.
One Fine Day:love:http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...sicCats256.jpg
Waiting for My Sydney wilk a nice Milktini!!!
Thank you all so very much. How nice to think of Sydney with his wings, enjoying lunch and dinner with his Angel friends!
Love from me and the cats and Sydney Angel :love::love:
I am so sorry. We went with Filou through 5 years of renal failure so I know what you have been through.
Sydney will not only meet his cousin Nelson but many other PT kitties as well. I am sure Filou will do some celtic dancing with the combo.
Thank you, Barbara (and everyone else). Yes, there is Celtic dancing, and square dancing too with Nelson's expert calls, with the Angels!
Pat, it is always so hard to lose one of these dear friends that loved us unconditionally. Sydney knew how much you loved him, and not he is watching over you.
Sleep softly, dearest Sydney....hugs to Pat.....
Thank you, Sandy..
I'm so sorry to hear about your Sydney's passing. He's playing at the Bridge now. RIP, Sydney!
Thank you, Anne..
Back when Poppy first came, she was just a baby kitten. She clearly needed an adult cat to be her mentor in learning the Ways of the Cat. Sydney took on this responsibility and became not only Poppy's mentor but also her big brother.
Their kinship continued throughout his life. I just came across this photograph which captures their closeness and affection:
Attachment 55138
Something I especially like about this picture is that the two of them cuddled up together form a heart shape!
You're welcome, KAK. It really touches my heart.
